Privacy Policy

This policy describes what data Tripizy collects, how it is used, and your rights over it. Tripizy is built for short-lived group trip expense tracking, and we collect only what the app needs to do that job.

What we collect

• Trip data you enter: trip name, destination, member names, expense descriptions, amounts, and who paid what.
• Account data if you sign up: your email and display name.
• Payment data if you upgrade: handled entirely by Stripe. We never see your card number. Stripe sends us a customer ID and the outcome of the payment.
• Receipt images if you scan one: sent to Anthropic's Claude API for text extraction, then discarded. We do not store receipt images.
• Technical logs such as IP address, browser, and timestamps — kept briefly by our hosting provider (Vercel) for security and debugging.

How we use it

• To run the app — compute balances, generate share links, route expenses to the right people.
• To process payments — via Stripe.
• To scan receipts and power "The Local" AI concierge — via Anthropic's Claude API. No training on your data.
• To send the magic-link email that signs you in — via our email provider.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your data, ever. We share limited data with the processors that keep Tripizy running:

• Supabase — database and authentication.
• Stripe — payments.
• Anthropic — AI (receipt scan + The Local). Data is processed, not stored for training.
• Vercel — hosting.

Your rights

You can ask us to export or delete your account data at any time. Email info.tripizy@gmail.com and we will respond within 30 days. If you are in the EU, UK, or California, you have additional rights under GDPR and CCPA including the right to access, correct, delete, or port your data, and to withdraw consent.

Retention

Trip data persists until you delete the trip or your account. Payment records are retained for seven years for tax and regulatory reasons (required by Stripe and applicable law). Logs are kept for a rolling 30-day window.

Children

Tripizy is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, for signed-in users, send an email notice. Continued use of Tripizy after an update means you accept the new terms.
